A poem about a love pledge. Wrote it last summer.

To spend with you an eternity, and hold good these vows of solemnity
To make a promise to listen, love and share, to partake in your hopes and fears
To travel afar with you, but still with a remembrance of home warm in our beating hearts
To hold your hand, in exhausted stops and false starts

To cherish your presence, embrace your dreams
To feel vain in your vanity, go insane in your insanity
To be there when the going gets tough
To be nowhere when you wish to rough someone up

To laugh with you in spring’s early bloom, to share your silences in winter’s dead calm
This my darling, I pledge to you.
