“Just as miracles are, God sent, tragedies occur for reasons known only to God.” ~ Richard Lawrence Belford ~
In a world that’s plagued by illness, accidents and senseless violence there seems to be nothing left to say that can justify their cause or rationalize random violence’s cowardly actions.
I therefore pray that the bible passage below, coupled with the following parable can provide some small measure of solace to anyone suffering the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one due to an illness, tragic accident or violent act.
God Only Knows
Just as miracles are, God sent,
tragedies occur for reasons
known only to God.
Whether it is the gift of birth
or the loss of a life,
one cannot exist without the other.
The gift of life is just that.
The power of reason is the knowledge
there’s no guarantee.
So, enjoy what you’re given,
mourn what you’ve lost
finding comfort in, God only knows.

John 14:1–4: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
I would also like to encourage everyone who reads this post to simply take a moment to either share or tweet its message in an effort that will help support those grieving a loss and its heart-wrenching affects, especially at this very difficult time of year.
