If you love children’s literature, fairy magic, and creative ideas, then you’re in the right place. If you also happen to be a parent seeking to eke out time to write and how to figure out the labyrinth that is the publishing process, even better!
I’m looking to create a friendly and informative community where parents, authors, and dreamers can come together to share ideas and find motivation. Look for my series, “What Maddie’s Reading” in which I talk about the books I share with my daughter (there’s no higher standard than that in my book), also keep an eye out for some simple tutorials and general advice on writing and balancing life as a parent.
I’m a college professor who teaches writing, theater, and literature (including courses in children’s/young adult literature. I’m also an aspiring children’s author, and I decided that it’s time to make getting published a priority. I have lots of experience teaching college students about children’s literature, but I’m just learning how to navigate the publishing world. Please join me on this journey.
I started this blog right before my daughter’s first birthday when I realized that a whole year had slipped way and I hadn’t made any progress on my writing goals. I want my daughter to be able to read the books and stories I make up for her. The only way to make sure that happens is to get them out there. So, if you’re working on a project, have some advice, or just want to say, “hello!” why not reach out to me on twitter @alandersonphd or Instagram alandersonphd?
