Angelica is a dedicated mother to the music of her soul: her daughters: Teresa, Giulia and Elisa & lovingly committed to the rhythm of her heart, Camiel.
She is a poetess, a giver of inspiration, a Romance Writers of America novelist, a member of SheWrites. She has done various tasks in her life: flights dispatcher & coordinator, a research analyst, loans and credit analyst, a legal assistant, a shipping insurance employee, a former aviation student, a piano and English teacher, a polyglot & a translator (Italian-English).
Born and raised in the Pearl of the Orient Seas, the eldest daughter of George Abaya, Esq. & Villa Abaya. She graduated as high school valedictorian in St. Paul Academy & graduated Cum Laude obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Major in Economics in Universidad de Santa Isabel.
She had been writing in her diaries and journals since she was a child. During high school/sophomore, she took a summer camp on Journalism & she knew that was what she want to pursue in the university. There were factors that did not allow her to study creative writing or journalism so when she worked in Land Bank of the Philippines, she enrolled in an overseas studies on Freelance Journalism & Short Story Writing. She attended novelists' workshop in Fort Lauderdale & met best seller authors: Suzanne Brockmann & Patricia Waddell. Through good friend/author, Sherry Weddle, she got connected with best seller author, Cindy Gerard, who has inspired her & gave her encouragement while writing her unpublished upcoming novel series projects.
Living now near The Hague, she is a member of Writers Unlimited. During the International Literature festival/Winternacthen festival, she met Hannan al-Shaykh, Amos Oz, Alberto Manguel, Hans Goedkoop, Peter Buwalda, Ngwatilo Mawlyoo, Petra Stienen, Umar Mirza & Mohammed Hanif.
She studied creative writing course at University of Oxford, class of Amal Chatterjee to hone her craft. She attends webinars conducted by Romance Writers of America — Romance University for romance novelists.
She writes, speaks & understands very fluent Italian while living for fourteen years in the Italian canton of Switzerland.
Living in The Netherlands, enriching more her multi-lingual interests, she is self-studying Dutch language while being a full time mother & working full time as an author. She also contributes articles for The Filipino Expat Magazine.
Her literary travels have mostly affected her writing locations, reflections of in a global setting. Her struggles in a foreign land, her inner hopes, wit, wisdom & joy expressed in a lyrical voice to reach out to others as a light of inspiration. She was nominated as one of the Outstanding Poets of the Year, 2003 and one of the Best Poets of the year, 2004 for her poems: Desert Rose and Single Mom.
Her first published book is an anthology of poems: Rhythm of a Heart, Music of a Soul. She is currently working on her short stories anthology and novel sequels.
