The President Macron win could mean a Harder Brexit for May
Why Macron's election might spell difficulty for Theresa May
I am a professional writing providing copy and blog writing for a range of businesses. This is in addition to my own creative work in fiction, theatre, poetry and Opinion. Passionate about justice, I frequently write blogs and articles, as well as providing reviews for some books I am asked to read. Currently I am working towards elf-publishing my debut novel.
I also publish my work on Medium.com and my own websites, in addition to being on Twitter as @colinwardwriter.
I great poem, heartfelt and sincere. I love the broken rhythm as it makes each line land on new idea without feeling forced. That gives them poem a kind of "walking" feeling; slowly moving from one obstacle to another.
I do a lot of writing on immigration in my job as a writer, but also in my own poetry, too. The need and desire not just for "tolerance", but also for feeling "welcome" is so important. We need to do more in society to welcome people like refugees, for example.
I am in the UK, and I am embarrassed by the way my own country is behaving at the moment. I love the final stanza — the message of irony. And immigrant standing at the foot of the symbol of liberty and freedom (which was a gift from France) is especially poignant.
