Some thoughts of poetry from my art THE HOUSES THAT WE BUILD
Greetings I am Gavion E. Chandler a playwright and artist who in my art engages 'The idea of Man' where In my art whether it would be by thoughts conveyed by rhetoric of words or images, I put to question our sense of humanity, and how we define ourselves and our world.
I write from plays, to poetry, to novels, to short stories and I draw and paint as well where I engage myself and the spectators of my art.
To understand my art, one must understand some things about me.
I- we are a riddle to me that perplexes me so. I am intrigued by our sentiments of humanity, the idea of what is human and not so humane. The 'Genius of Man' is maddening to me. We are brilliant and yet hold no regard or respect for as what we are capable of doing and such thoughtful speculation sends me and my art tumbling, tumbling down that dark rabbit hole of no return.
Thus I am intrigued and appalled by the wonder of Man and it is on the precipice of this double edged sword that my art of word and vision comes to manifest and to be.
