Sources of distractions
Frédéric Grondin, as an insightful and hardworking man, could not measure the gravity of his decision when, one morning, he went to the village of Tampon to look for the girl he encountered the last time he visited the area.
I was born in 1949 in Mauritius. I completed my studies in 1968, met the girl with whom I exchanged, during seven years, an intense correspondence which could be considered as an approach and a practice to writings. Since I never stop writing and decided after getting married ( to her of course) to continue to write stories that would be the novels I published later.
I began my professional career as teacher in 1971, entered the Public Service in the Ministry of health in 1973, got married in 1974 and came to establish in Reunion Island in 1977. I started to work as translator/interpretor French/English in a Private Company. I have two children, a boy and a girl, married already and am grandfather of five adorable grandchildren.
I published my first novel ‘The lovers of Bourbon Island’ in French language in 1989. I wrote in my spare time and published 18 novels. A love of youth is my first novel translated and published in English language. A Family Enterprise followed soon after and then A business woman. All my novels are of Literary Fiction. I have chosen to write on themes that would interest readers fond of stories of manners, and which treat on the problems of society at different periods of history of both Islands, Reunion and Mauritius. People of different regions of the world have come to establish on these Islands and have decided to live together. In this society of different origins and beliefs I talk about traditions, cultures, customs practice by each of the characters involved in my novels. The aim is to allow readers to discover a new aspect of the society considered as an example by people who discover it. I am now retired and live with my wife in Saint-Denis, Reunion Island.
