Really lovely. Your poem reminds me of the Rilke quote, 'Surely all art is the result of one's having been in danger, of having gone through an experience all the way to the end, where no one can go any further.' The idea that the 'end' or the 'edge' is the precipice of death is an interesting one and makes me wonder what other edges besides death might be sources of attraction. (Immediately I think of madness or the unconscious, but then I usually do.) I love the idea of coming up against abysses though, well done portraying that so movingly here. :)
