The UK has long been thought of as solid and sensible, decent and kind. In an instant, Nigel Farage and his henchmen could turn it into a pariah, a rogue among nations.
When one is the 23rd great-granddaughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine, where does one go from there? Possibly straight to the man--my maternal grandfather--who was expelled for toppling and outhouse at Albany University. And then one laughs; ancestry is interesting--even amusing--but it's meaningless. "What have you done for me lately?" as a guide to living seems to make more sense. I'm working on it. Book Two of the adventures of hapless detective Shelf Barker is coming up, maybe with a Christmas short story first. And a couple of scriggles.
