This is a great piece. I especially like the phrase "word-vomits and emotion-explosions". I found myself slyly smiling at your confession because it's what I thought when I first arrived too.
It's short, concise and to the point — as a blog should be. If it's more than 1000 words, it's arguably an essay — a matter of opinion maybe.
I've recently taken up copying and pasting the odd blog onto Word just to see how long they are. I do this with the ones that are really good and especially the ones that bore me silly.
The reason: is something along the lines of wanting to know how much of the boring was the waffle or length and how much of the boring was the writer. Likewise, if something is good, I want to know how many words it took the author to make the point, amuse, engage and leave. You did it in less than 900.
Apart from the compliment, the other point hidden in this confession is that by reading other people's work; even the un-gems, there's still stuff to be learnt and got from it.

That’s the moment in which you will be cast
A muse embalmed with immortality
Where time can no longer pass;
