The first kiss: tentative, nervous, and yet so full of promise. Your lover’s lips just brushing against yours, the thrill of discovery and the fear of expectation! A first kiss is both nerve wracking and incredibly exciting. The joy and heartache of the first kiss and first love are the emotions that Marcia Goodman strives to evoke in her writing.
An author of Contemporary and Paranormal Romance Books, Marcia has always been fascinated with writing stories. Even as a little girl she took great joy in letting her imagination run wild with fanciful tales of love and adventure. She grew up on an island, where her earliest writing was about small town life and small town loves. She came to appreciate knowing everybody in your neighborhood and the perils of everybody knowing you. Many of these early works were about the kind of neighborhood gossip and betrayals common to girls growing up and people living small town lives.
As a young woman, Marcia moved to a city in the heart of the United States. Life and love certainly become more complex when you can be completely anonymous even when, perhaps especially when, standing in a crowd! Marcia learned quickly that all relationships – from friendships to intimate affairs – are much more complicated among urban high-rises and fenced in suburban homes.
To keep her sane and remind her to laugh, Marcia has her girl friends – a small group of confidantes who have shared her life through the good times and bad. They have laughed and cried together, bemoaned the worthlessness of some men while singing the praises of others. They helped her learn an important life lesson: when life gives you a basket of lemons, make some margaritas and call the girls!
The varied tapestry of her life serves as a backdrop for the stories that Marcia writes. Some of the plots are flights of fancy, but some of the writing definitely hit close to home. And of course, all of it comes straight from the heart. Marcia enjoys reading about romance – love lost and won, sensual fantasies explored or denied – as much as she enjoys writing them and strives to express this love of the genre with each story.
Marcia firmly believes that women can channel their sensuality while maintaining a sense of strength. In her stories you will find an array of characters and personalities, but ultimately deep down you will find strong women who have the intelligence and emotional bravery to overcome the obstacles that they face – even when – sometimes especially because – they enjoy a little kink here and there.
After all, who says you can’t be strong when tied to a bed with silk handkerchiefs?
