The Summer of Joy
We were pre-teens in the 1960's when illness groped our friendship like steel hands and changed our futures.
“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection” ~Anais Nin~ I will NEVER stop speaking out about seemingly fake/false alliances or affiliations that seemingly use children/parents as pawns to further their own personal movements. I am a young 63 years. I am an advocate for Sexually Abused Women and the Disabled. I've written articles for various magazines and newspapers. I am a volunteer for organizations such as Hospice, Veterans Final Honors, and other various organizations. I have spoken in churches, prisons and in Sacramento. I am an avid reader and self-taught. I'm not so serious I can't enjoy a bit of laughter. I am a writer and have compiled over 170 stories of my life, poetry, and musings. I am community oriented. I embrace life. I am independent, strong, well-spoken and most times driven by my own inner life to excel and learn. "Please, do not take kindness for weakness" I am currently writing my first novel. Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country. ~Anais Nin
