I was born in 1947, a time when the real entertainment was conversation. With little else to do, stories flew. However, some were pretty tall. My grandfather used to say, 75 were 50 % true. growing up in the 50s and 60s, I listened to and absorbed them. Being the son if a farmer, I personally met and knew many of the characters I write about. As I got older, I started telling the stories with welcome responses. Writing is surely different than telling, taking those stories and blending them into a story, so it has become a labor, a labor of love. Sitting in a real estate office or in a classroom with a bunch of antsy kids, the characters came to life. Then, when working for a construction company, at break time or lunch, the stories became hits. Now, in retirement, I had to put pen to paper. It would be so sad to see these stories die. I call my stories RAMBLINGS.
