Shackles On My Soul
Shackles on my soul Barbed wire around hope... Sparks of hope Bursting through my eyes Its rays not lighting my path Tearing my vision if I step forward... All pitch black...
My name is Seemeen Khan Yousufzai. I am a Writer, a Poet, an Educator and a Content Editor.
Always having an irresistible passion for writing, I have tried to pursue this path and hone my skills in writing by trying my hand at various genres of writing that I feel passionate about, be it poetic or noetic. Writing has been a means of solidifying the bombardment of imaginative molecules into a shape. Matters that I could not really talk about as I have been very reserved in opening up the emotional, imaginative side of myself to people.
Once, I set to writing I feel I am transported to a different realm and the piece fo writing itself navigates me to my destination.
I am extremely passionate about writing and gain immense joy from it. I love words, I love knowledge and I try to cherish both in my writings. I am currently writing a novelette in which I am trying to incorporate both of these aspects to the maximum.
I am an ardent enthusiast of both the arts and science. This is the reason why Linguistics, an amalgamation of both fields, appealed to me and I hopped on to explore it. It was a relishing way of putting to use and expanding my knowledge of Language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, et al.
This desire of writing has come along with successfully achieving my dream of seeing my work published. My first published book, On The Wings of SKY, is an anthology of 40 of my poems. I will be trying to soon follow this up with a compilation of short stories and then a short novel titled, As Time Swept Across Her Face, God Willingly, in the near future.
My poems depict my raw feelings about various aspects of life that many of us can relate to. My short stories' are all based on personal experiences, or more specifically, personal feelings in fictionalized settings.
