You won't find "Forget the Noise" on a best-sellers list. I am no celebrity fund manager, that's for sure. Nor do I make bold calls. "Forget the Noise" is boring and not fun. I am, perhaps, a stereotypical salesman's worst nightmare. There is no "special" story.

I'll never write a book that is called "10 steps to master XYZ", "The easy way to financial freedom" (free tip: there is no easy way), "Trade binary options for fun" etc.

I write about the way I invest money because I think most people are getting ripped off. Managing your own wealth is well within your grasp. Some will agree with my views, others won't. This is the beauty of the world we live in.

So, there is a point to this. I get annoyed when I read blog posts such as this: http://bit.ly/2iLWlnW I am not annoyed with the post author. I am a big fan of Ben Carlson. I am annoyed that people actually are able to sell books called:

  • The Demographic Cliff: How to Survive and Prosper During the Great Deflation of 2014-2019
  • The Great Crash Ahead: Strategies for a World Turned Upside Down
  • The Next Great Bubble Boom: How to Profit from the Greatest Boom in History: 2006-2010
  • The Great Boom Ahead: Your Comprehensive Guide to Personal and Business Profit in the New Era of Prosperity

These are all written by a guy called Harry Dent. Mr. Dent is a best-selling author who makes bold calls and promises riches. A perfect recipe to sell lots of books but unfortunately, not a recipe for investment success. But like Ben says: No one will buy a book called "There Is No Easy Way to Get Rich Overnight" or a book called "Forget the Noise", for that matter. :)
