It absolutely disheartens me to see how the refugees are treated. Being kept like cattle in what's now been names a 'jungle'. The word jungle speaks volumes. These people have been treat with such inhumanity and so publically. I can not understand why?. As a world fighting terrorism, we ask the people of Syria and neighbouring countries not to join terrorist movements, to remain peaceful. They do so ,try to leave and this is the treatment they get. They are literally not welcome anywhere in the world. I can not imagine how that must feel. They have no place in the whole world to call home. No where to go back to and nowhere to go forward to. They are vagabonds, travellers without choice. Are their lives not valuable though?. Do they not deserve a place in this world.

These refugees are desperate, desperate enough to climb into a rubber dinghy to cross the sea when they know that they cannot swim. Desperate enough to risk going to a country where they will be turned away without food, water or shelter. As a result many have died. I therefore cannot help but think that the reason we turn our back on them is because they are not like us. But I ask , who are we?, what means us?

We are evidently a nation that can turn our back on suffering and desperate humans. We are a nation that watches children drown, starve and freeze to death and do nothing......What was the definition of terrorist again?
