Baking bread



24/11/2016 A humble loaf transcending

I take these humble ingredients. 

Some flour, some yeast

water and herbs. 

I add a smile and a wish

and a sprinkling of soul. 

I leave it in a safe place,

a quiet place,

with a blanket of hope

to protect it through the dark hours.

With morning light 

I spring from bed

joyful at the prospect

of baking bread,

to taste the love

I infused into its fibre.
