Humor Theme: “In that moment you realize what has happened. You see the end to your search, a most adorning flower, you must make your garden”
SWEET TROPICAL EPIPHANY
SOLDIERS OF FATE
It appeared an ordinary day for the tropical Island,
The ocean breathed humidity, the sun its heat,
Sandals of beach lovers pound the dirt beaten sidewalks,
Honking of rich tourists push the less favored off road.
Here I clad on a striped two piece to make an impression,
There is money to be made in this colony of old,
A short climb the eight flights, arrived I breathless,
Delivered into a wooden, saving arm chair, relieved not to die.
Then arrived that moment I never would forget,
My two eyes gazed upon that waiting, trimmed stalk damsel,
Potted; advantaged at the dark corner end, soaking the ambiance,
Good gully! That sight of the moment about struck me blind.
Breathless still I murmured “never saw one so”
It appeared her veritable honor and graceful character preached beauty,
Her charming chocolate color, and tender grayness demanded attention,
Cap in hand, here at this moment is my tropical truth, for sure.
For me the business of the day was concluded,
Looking across her stoked whorl of petals; years later, I smiled,
This lovely flower; my estimable garden deserves all my attention,
Unexpected, adorning tropical epiphany; the real color of my life.
