Love Still Born

A poem on the loneliness and sadness caused by impossible love.

The world in tears like glass
Cuts through my soul reflecting
Infant cries, forsaken notes
Of lullabies
Or lives lost longing in the dark
Of years that tear the heart apart
Like dust in wind disperses
Along the loneliness of verses
And memories forgotten
Of stories half begotten
On roads that cross but cannot
Hold together — hands that touch
Then part forever
Of love still born and never told.
