FISHING

I wanted to tackle

An actress role

So my hands were shackled

Because in my role I stole

Up on stage

With a cast so fine

I turned the page

As I was fishing for my line

Rehearsal’s last day

Before opening night

I was ready to tackle the play

My nerves showed no fright

I forgot to mention Rod

He was a catch

We were “two peas in a pod”

A wonderful match!

Rod was also in the play

The play got rave reviews

The next day

We were even on the news!

Though stardom is nice

And now I live by the ocean

Stardom has its price

Even though I got a promotion

Rod also became famous

And moved away

I was now a lonely actress

Living on a bay

I waited with baited breath

For Rod to return

He fell to his death

I was more than concerned

Though that was in a film

On a movie reel

I seldom

Cry and quickly heal

I was no longer concerned

So I read hundreds of books

I was known as a bookworm

On books I was hooked

I got a bite to eat

One day before an audition

As I took a seat

In walked a magician

He asked me to go fishing

I have him a nod

Though I was still missing

The love of my life Rod

The magician held up a sign

“Are you hooked on fishing?”

I thought, what a cheesy line

It was Rod I was missing

He wanted me to dance on a pole

For the audition

I did not want this role

Or to be in this position!

It was a setup though

Because from my past

Were people that I know

My past acting cast!

The magician then gave a nod

He put on a show

And in walked Rod

My face brightly glowed!

Rod asked me to be his wife

Fishing was done for the rest of my life!
