27/7/16 Two, for want of a better word, poems

The earth cracks open

lava flows forth,

scorching new growth

and old alike.

The poison swallowed

to kill the enemy.

Burning within my heart.

It is taking pride of place

where it never truly belonged.

--------

Vicious wolves,

growling and tearing

at your barriers,

desperate for a way in,

gouging at your

now-locked-door.

Teeth and claws

leaving signature marks

marking the territory

that once was,

always was,

forever is...

theirs.
