There was a moment when I considered briefly the possibility that she might allow me

To apologize for the sins of the past

Would i last the distance to her doorway

I could barely make it a step forward without falling prey

To some exotic visual distraction of the female variety giving me contractions

Every time she chooses to interact with me

I didn't mean to freeze that gerbil of an over active relationships imagination

They say no act of greatness is achieved without perspiration

You see my jaws drop in marvel at your abilities

But you would never catch me admitting i couldn't rise to your level

I'm just not capable of maintaining this charade

Pulling the wool over my eyes

Stuffing buds of cotton in my ears

Pouring black clouds of acid rain on your parade

For my heart you have betrayed

For the last time my shady maid

We were always better off going our separate ways

Though pieces of you will always remain coiled within my innermost being

Displayed on neon lights for the arm and leg love butchers cavalcade

Dripping with an intense woe no mop could soak for sorrows weight

Too deep to wade plunged up to necks in reckless affections all encompassing sweet syrup
