Voices remain

A memory

Her voice remains,

blue eyes stained

                   with darkness.

Told me, revealed

 how violence stealed

                   left starkness.

A life taken away

seeped through day

                 Spring belied.

Her words softly spoken,

something inside her broken,

                She sighed.

My child eyes, opened wide,

in horror and surprise

                The day John Lennon died
