Another unconnected set, micro poems

Avert your eyes,
turn aside from me.
Don't try to pry ~ as you won't like what you see.
For that which is inside just can't be scrubbed clean.
Nothing will atone,
for the devil that's me.

Soft spoken words,
quivers of moonlight ~
shine on two bodies,
in exquisite delight
the serenade of lovers
till the break of daylight

~~~~
Our city of avarice decimates the poor ~
bankers, politicians
act with impunity,
unrestrained by any moral or law
~~~~

For a city drenched in sin,
dear Narcissus would be proud ~
but what of the weak,
those in need, the poor?
they'll be shoved out sight,
and condemned by law.

~~~~
For some reason these days,
just don't know why ~
am overcome with emotion
tend often to cry.
Lamenting the past, the present too;
the mistakes made in life,
regret is like gruel.
~~~~

Time to move on,
oh yes I'm too shy;
it's no longer a glare ~
the look is now a stare,
as she undresses me here with her eyes.
