Broken glass shatters the reflection of my soul

It burns like the flames of a crucible hot with molten coal

I’ve sold my soul to the extinguisher of fire

though, nonetheless my desire burns like a funeral pyre

I’m reaching into the depths of consciousness

Into the abyss of doubt and turmoil

where, my soul should be thought of

but nevertheless is caught in a war between shadows

Shadows haunting and clawing itself into me

Though the fire is extinguished my soul never regains life

It’s lost like an eroded ocean out in a dry desert at night

My consciousness never forgives my soul’s betrayal

and left alone to rust and decay in my body’s sail:

My heart, my rhythm which will surely fade

but counting the seconds till I lose time in shame

I’m caving into myself furling the flag close

Gaffing the net from the ocean to drag my soul back to shore

Lost at sea I seem to be drifting further than i can see

no horizon or oasis close to me

a mirage a glimpse that my soul set free

That my soul is of broken glass shattered in an abyss of consciousness
