Silence

With a cinnamon sky:

Entrenched in these empty walls are

Our cries

And so in the silence

Resonates the pained pleasure endlessly

In the silence

Hearing every word your soul screams

In the stillness

With a cinnamon sky and the blackening clouds

I feel you grow

Desperate

And in time the river’s rush grows faster and louder still

In the silence

Where I should be hearing mountains fall

And commits collide

There’s only a stillness

Content

Perhaps? Where nothing is needed

In excess or less

Missing

Perchance? The absence of

Something not quickening

My pulse. Am I dead?

It may seem so as I stare

Into your deep blue

Wishing I had roaring oceans

Dancing in my pools of darkness.

If my lips could crease like yours

So that maybe I could warm your neck

As you do mine

Without a complex cloud

Of cynicism and doubt

In the silence

When all our words are spoken

And I see my thoughts in yours

Never have I felt so

Part of the singularity

In the stillness

I hear the dark sides of me

Emanating from you

Energy I flee from daily

The many-headed beast, I cannot slay

Our cries are embedded in these

empty walls

The silence resonating from our hollow vessels

Are you the voice of reason, or

The maleficent temptress?

Will the lion choose the man or the beast, or

Could we be both?
