MOVING ON

I hailed a taxi to leave

Dreams far away to believe

Not wanting to miss my plane

Putting to rest all I grieve

I was running from the pain

My heart had been tied in chains

Boarding the airplane to fly

No more stormy pouring rain

My crying eyes were now dry

To the past I waved goodbye

A new love for me awaits

Nothing ahead but blue sky

Playing games with both our fate

He lovingly shouts “checkmate”

And steers as I navigate

At long last hitting home plate
