I looked for you in spaces

That only you could fill

I swallowed you like water

And took you like a pill.

I downed you like the air I breathe

Released you from my lung

And everyday I woke up

I remember how you stung.

Before me, here you’re standing

Bowed on both your knees

Begging, pleading, crying

I can hardly hear your pleas.

You needn’t wonder where I stand

Not a breath to hear me talk

The only thing that’s left here

Is the sound of where I walk.
