Despite the strength & confidence I radiate,

There is a part of me which fears the unknown,

And though this fear may cause me to hesitate,

I rarely allow this weakness to be shown.

The mind has many passages left unexplored,

And it is the possibilities in these that scare me,

If into this darkness I dare to bore,

I wonder cautiously what I might see.

The dark side of people I approach warily,

For all have one though some are well hidden,

And as strong as the light side may be,

The dark can emerge rapidly when bidden.

A dos can change to a wolf with on quick blink,

As the shadows of evil shut out all light,

And the gentlest person one might think,

Can become a giant with all the world’s might.

The key to my worries is fear alone,

The more I think of it stronger it becomes,

Shaping itself as a knife sharpened to a fine hone,

I know to this emotion I must not succumb.

For as weak as my dark side might be,

The fear it brews, as easily as a murderer

could kill all the love & life in me.
