In my time of dying, where would you be?

Sat close, hands held, right beside me?

Bringing comfort to my heart, with reassurance of love;

a testimony in fact, that made from above.

Or would you flee in disgust at my vile state?

With writhing in pain, pressure too much to take.

And when the heart opens to speak the dying words,

would your love flee so easily

by what is spewed forth?

A darkened soul that's been blackened by sin,

from a life of regret that churns inside me;

the prayer for redemption left wandering still.

Come,

in the time of dying;

come rescue me.

For the time of dying is nigh upon me.
