The symphony

there is a symphony playing on my tongue

they are overwhelming the audience

my taste buds are in ecstasy

the combination of favorable concoctions

throw themselves at me like a tidal wave hitting a sandy shore

the fiddle, trumpet and drums beat upon my stage, upon my tongue

the aroma of lemon zest seeping into my palette

the salty crunch of potatoes crisps beating in rhythm like that of a snare drum

with every bite a rhythm changes a new melodic line

the harmony of textual aromas sooth my cravings my inner most desire delight

an encore is forming for a round of applause swelling the symphony for a noble cause

the tanginess and soreness causes my tongue to cringe

but deep in the back of my throat i feel a bulge a bursting hinge

now choking on an encore oxygen is leaving me

all left to do is to swallow now to take on the last bite

the 5th movement

the last crunch of the timpani
