Ice-cream in the city

4/10/16 Who we were for each other

I remember that day.

We were so much younger

so much newer.

Life had left scars on us,

deep, nasty ones...

but not yet the ones

we bear today.

I remember we bailed on the party,

I loved that,

it was so me,

and you went along with it,

which was so not you,

but you allowed yourself that day,

that special day.

We walked the city streets,

it didn't matter where,

as long as we were together.

We walked and laughed at all our silly jokes.

We were so much younger, so much newer.

We bought ice-creams, sat down

and loved them together...
