I stare, with sadness, at the rain,

That trickles down the window pane,

Reflected in my eyes, I seek,

To stem the tears that soak my cheeks,

I hold a rose, I smell its scent,

Forgetful of what it once meant,

A love I had, a childhood gone,

As I sit here, all on my own.

I yearn for peace, a desert thirst,

I'm often second, never first,

Why can't you be like all the rest?

The one who should have loved me best.

So, now I wait, I'm sitting here,

For one to come and dry my tears,

As they go on, I take the blame,

They trickle down the window pane.
