A short collection of unconnected micro-poems

Why look up,
turn my gaze to the sky?
Your eyes are the stars,
they sparkle so bright
Dazzling my heart ~
under moonlight.

~ ~ ~ ~

To open up the darker recess of the mind ~
Tis' pensive;
perplexing,
and often evil we'll find.

~ ~ ~ ~

Skin soft as satin;
eyes bright like jewels,
her sweetness imprinted on me ~
yet fate is too cruel.

~ ~ ~ ~

Gaze upon such beauty
so sweet, just lovely;
~ a distraction for the mind,
from the evil of tyranny I find.

~ ~ ~ ~

The heart of the city
in the early hours ~
like the end of the world:
this hell doth devour.

~ ~ ~ ~

Darkness, all pervading
envelopes me;
takes grip of my heart
just won't let me be.

~ ~ ~ ~

Your beauty it blinds me,
like looking at sunlight.
Etched on my memory,
now I can't sleep at night.

~ ~ ~ ~

The hardest thing to acquire ~
is something worthy to inspire.
What does the lady inspire,
~ except but a flame of passion & desire?

~ ~ ~ ~

Regret in life is a painful thing
Don't silence me honey
The heart wants to sing.

~ ~ ~ ~

Strolling in the sunlight;
Trying to occupy ~
myself,
my time,
anything
to keep you off my mind.

~ ~ ~ ~

Never sought it;
Believe me, it's no lie
But I couldn't escape,
From the prying lady's eye
...so I'll hide my face
Pretend I'm shy,
Then proceed apace
From the lust in her eyes.

~ ~ ~ ~

If I told you of the secrets that lie deep within
You wouldn't love me
but hate me
as I'm blackened by sin.

~ ~ ~ ~

Like the birds sing at dawn,
my soul does too
It's joyous,
so happy
Set ablaze by you.

~ ~ ~ ~

Petals of a fallen rose
Just as delicate as so many of
the hearts in this world.
