Deep soak

Soaking

in deep, hot water.

Floating there,

eyes closed.

Can you feel the tension

melt...?

Breathe it out.

Bathe,

my love,

soak.

________

Propelled ever up

Climb the tree,

needle claws

piercing skin.

Climb the tree,

leap from branch

to branch,

upward, ever upward

toward the light.

Life-giving light,

so harsh, so sharp...

must it always,

always, hurt the eyes?

Climb, my friend, climb,

tree limbs

an extension of your own,

fingers always finding

purchase...

Feet pressing down,

legs springing,

pushing up.

Climb, my friend...

climb.

________

Punching bag

Feel the punches

as they strike

your torso.

Their impact deep.

Winded?

Nah, this is what it feels like

to be alive.

Watch the fists

come for you,

come for you,

ComeForYou.

Pounding Pounding Pounding!!!

In slow motion,

like pistons,

...leftrightleftright...

You would never even

think

to step out of the way.

Nah, this is what it feels like

to be alive.

________

Literary Lagomorph

How fecund!

Look at me,

constantly proliferating

like some literary lagomorph...

here's another baby,

and another

and another.

What to do with all my droppings?

Scriggle me away,

into your heart...

Scriggle me a way

in.

I just have to keep on

pushing

all of these words...

out.
