Theme Poem: Console yourself and seek peaceful solitude, when your expectations are not met by others. Inspired By: The hopeless departure of another lover.
WHIFF OF HOPE
Like that lady I met in romance of October,
Returned to her lover in dewy November,
The bee that stung her before September,
All that good loving, a whiff of hope!
What more can one say about hope,
Tossed in the air by a gust of wind,
Puff, puff; it climbs high only to disappear,
And with it; the expectations of another.
Like sacred seed buried in the ground I tilled,
Flower, harrowed, furrowed and wetted in vain,
I watered, waxed and waited till time to bloom,
Nothing to show but a toil in whiff of hope.
Then there was a place they called in the sun,
I journeyed a way and so far to see,
Hapless it be; a trail and gust of winds,
Peaceful solitude one feels is safer than whiffs!
