I was Zeus, ever the fool, I made our world, and it worked its way out out of my skull, all my creation and I so proud I turned myself into a peacock and strutted around admiring all my beautiful colours.   You were Hera, beautifully...

I was Zeus,

ever the fool,

I made our world,

and it worked its way out

out of my skull,

all my creation

and I so proud

I turned myself into a peacock

and strutted around

admiring all my beautiful colours.

You were Hera,

beautifully cold and analytical,

austere eyes always asking questions

I never wanted to answer.

Always loving me,

though I loved another,

though I returned your love,

my way.

You became a viper and bit my heel...

And you marked me yours,

yours and no-one else's

or nothing.

And so we went,

Zeus and Hera,

creating and breaking down our wondrous world,

from one second to the next,

neither knew who was about to strike in anger

or passion

and destroy

everything we loved.
