I have beaten my face bloody and scratched my skin raw at the thought of your laughter, at the thought of all the ways I cannot physically attain it's beauty. My eyes are tattered and torn, broken at the lids and falling by the lash from the destruction of my tears. From the deepest, darkest ruins inside of me, I have found solace in your being. Somewhere, anywhere, as long as you're alive, I too, can breathe. Leave it to me to be shirtless the one time you asked for the shirt off my back. Tendon by tendon, muscle by muscle, I will give you the skin that hides all the things I'd hoped you'd never see. I would cover you in my fiery blood, my intense evolution of liquid callous just to keep you from shivering. Come home to me. Lie on the ground beneath the dirt and forget the air outside. Let's make our own heaven as we hold hands and forget how much it hurts to be alive and so far away. Let's watch the stars fall like meteors on the bare bones of our lifeless bodies as our souls make love in the clouds. I'd ask you to be mine, but only if you had forever.
