...Within this contextual setting our story of the mysterious City of Atlantis in the Bermuda Triangle, situated in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean unfolds, revealing secrets of the unknown… unveiling curious enigmas so strange and terrifying… What did they find? And would they survive?
The legendary lost island subcontinent Atlantis has captivated mankind from all walks of life, for many generations. Many legends’ origins have been lost in the mists of time, but not the origin of the City of Atlantis. The ancient Greek philosopher Plato, was the first to mention it. Over the centuries in spite of Atlantis’ clear origin in fiction, multitudes of people have claimed that there must be some truth behind the myths and have speculated about where Atlantis could be found. Many Atlantis “experts” have located the lost continent all around the world, but Plato is crystal clear about where his Atlantis is. While many believe the story is a myth created by Plato to illustrate his theories about politics, others insist it is based on a real historical disaster. Recently two scientists who worked off the coast of Cuba, used exploration robot submersibles and have confirmed that a gigantic city exists at the bottom of the ocean.
An excerpt from the Book...
Jason Hart and his five crewmen were excited and ready for this journey. They had trained and kept in good physical shape and knew they were set for their long awaited exploration of discovering and finally unveiling the secrets hidden deep within the mysterious City of Atlantis, for many centuries. It was decided that Ron Taylor would stay on board to monitor the dive computers and the tracking devices on the ship, while his five companions Jason Hart, Philip Steward, Andrew Holt, Abraham Sands and Derrick Maxwell made the dive into the dark murky depths of the ocean.
Just before they reached the island of Freeport City, something unusual occurred.
“This didn’t happen on our first expedition. What do you think it means?” Abraham asked the others.
All their instruments suddenly stopped working. Their compasses stuck on true north and stayed fixed in the geographic direction of the North Pole. Before anyone could answer Abraham’s question, all the lights on the ship went out, the expensive instruments and equipment shut down and the boat’s engine died. The vessel came to a standstill. Perplexed at this unexpected turn of events, the six mariners tried everything to restore their equipment and engines, but without any favourable outcome. They were stranded, dead in the water. It was night time and the sky was clear. There were no signs of bad weather, either above in the sky or on the surface of the large body of water. All was calm and the silence was eerie. They couldn’t even hear the general oceanic sounds in the surrounding water. Everything stopped, all was deathly quiet.
Since the radio wasn’t working they couldn’t even send out a SOS signal. The men, unfamiliar with this strange condition, sat in dismay tinged with tiny pricks of fear. Nobody spoke, not one of them wanted to ask the questions which burnt on everyone’s lips. They were too afraid to break the sinister silence, so they all just sat there motionless in the dark. It felt as if they were frozen and trapped in time, stuck in something like a time warp. It seemed they were suspended in time, lost in another world or dimension.
Then as suddenly as it began it ended and the sound of the waves was all around them again. The fine mists of the ocean’s spray was felt on their faces and the gentle breeze was back. The marine mammals and the familiar calls of the whales were audibly heard again. The ship’s lights went on, the equipment rebooted and started up again and the engines roared back into action. Ron looked at his watch and saw they had not lost time, not even a second. They all checked their watches and realized that their time was exactly the same as Ron’s. This was as uncanny as it was upsetting. It was a nerve racking experience. The crew had no explanation for what happened while at the same time, they were all relieved. They radioed in their bizarre incident and gave their exact location to the marine land authorities.
The next morning after all checks were done on their diving gear and instruments, it was time to leave the boat. One by one they fell off the side of the ship into the sea, until Ron was alone on board.
