4th episode of the Adventures of Nilstut the Strange
The Other House was empty.
Through the rooms and the corridors, an organ sounding.
The dust clinging from the heavy curtains.
Outside, in the garden, the humble veil of smoke rising from the large compost heap.
The organ resonated across the house, out to the street, towards the park, towards the trees.
The quiet night crowned the tops of the street lamps in pale white, shone on the trees of arms raised like mighty armies of men, offered to the virgin moonlight.
Nilstut's hands stopped playing abruptly. He got up, adjusted the seat.
His steps resonated slow through the vast empty halls.
Stopped where the light came through the window.
Bared his chest to the Night.
