Just in time for Valentines Day. The declaration of a man in love with a damaged woman. Just in time for Valentines day. (Excerpt from "Breaking a Cycle")
“When I first met you, I thought you were perfect; my ideal, beautiful, intelligent, strong, and caring -the total package. So I allowed myself to fall.
When I really got to know you, I realized that you weren’t perfect at all. That you had your share of scars, rough edges, and dark shadows that haunted you. That’s when I loved you more.”
“You see it’s easy to love when everything is perfect; when the bubble is filled with an element of mystery, laughter, and smiles. When we’re both in sync and anticipate effortlessly one another’s needs, and wants.
My feelings are put to the test when we abrade on those rough edges and the bubble bursts. When darkness descends, I fight for us and love you harder because I know that’s what you need."
“Yes. I love you.”
He watched as she struggled to find her voice.
“You don’t have to say the words. You’re not ready. I know you feel the same for me. I know this because it’s there in your eyes when you look at me. Your beautiful eyes sparkle and they reflect what I feel for you.
“Right there.” He kissed her furrowed brow, gently brushing his lips across her skin. “That’s all that matters.”
