The space between your lips was the deepest of all the valleys I had ever encountered.

They cauterized my skin and almost immediately, stopped the bleeding.

You became me, sunken into the saddest pores of my being.

Just by being alone, you were apart of who I was, living or not.

“Please don’t leave,” I pitifully begged you as I lie in a pool of my own tears.

You gently rested your chin on your left shoulder and looked back at me, hardly saddened.

The ends of your lips appeared to move upward and you took the last breath I’d ever watch you breathe.

“I’m not a piece of you. I am you. I will cause your bleeding and stop it at my own will. Stop giving yourself away to people who do the same. I don’t think you’ll ever learn.”
